Hypertension

Hypertension also known as high blood pressure is a state of great psychological stress. It results from a complex interaction of genes and environmental factors. Hypertension is often referred to as “the silent killer”. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to a heart attack, stroke and even death.
Risk factors: A number of risk factors increase the chances of having hypertension.
·      Excess body weight

·         Alcohol and tobacco use

·         Existing health conditions




·         Physical inactivity

·         A salt-rich diet associated with processed and fatty foods

·         Low potassium in the diet

·         Work related stress

How to overcome hypertension?

·         Reduce your stress
·         Exercise regularly
·         Get support from family and friends
·         Eat more potassium-rich foods
·         Try meditation
·         Cut back on salt
·         Quit alcohol and smoking
·         Consume a rich diet in fruits and vegetables
·         Monitor your blood pressure
