National Science Day

National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of Raman effect by Indian Physicist Sir Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman on 28 February 1928

For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.

Sir C.V Raman was the first Indian scientist to win Nobel Prize  in Physics for his work on the scattering of light and for the discovery of the Raman effect, which is named after him.

Cancer is a disease involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body.

Major Cancer causing factors are:

• Smoking: Active & passive smoking leads to higher incidence of cancer.
• Overweight & Sedentary Life style.
• Exposure to radiations.
• Junk foods: Increased usage of processed foods have higher risk of cancer
• Consumption of food that are heated or served in plastic materials like plastic boxes and plastic sheets.
• Usage & exposure to plastic in daily life
• Packaged snacks like chips and synthetic food products
